Overview

Time commitment: 3-4 hours

We're in the early stages of product discovery for a trading terminal. We need someone who can help us understand our users deeply and convert those insights into actionable product experiments. Your next interview will involve running an Engineering Planning meeting to scope these experiments into engineering work.

We've provided you with 3 user interview transcripts based on real user conversations. You'll need to infer their needs from their workflows and pain points.

Your Task

  1. Identify target user segment(s) - Who should we build for?
  2. Extract key insights - What are their core needs and pain points?
  3. Design product experiments - What should we test and how should we test it?
  4. Prioritize ruthlessly - What should we build first and why?
  5. Define success metrics - How will we know if we're making progress in the right direction?

Deliverables

  1. Please prepare a structured set of product experiments that you’d like to run given these user conversations. This is intentionally open-ended - use any tools you’d like. Show us how you'd build our product engine from scratch.
  2. Write up a set of engineering tickets for your highest priority experiment(s) in preparation for the live planning session. These should be detailed enough to discuss scope and run a planning session with engineers.
